Unanswered requests. Promises to remember. Routine follow-ups to draft. Loose Ends helps your practice stay on top of the correspondence.

Works with your existing Microsoft 365 mailboxes.

Clients email their usual contacts. Emails go from your practice’s mailboxes, and replies return there. No new client portal or move to another communications platform.

Estimate your time savedOptional calculator · your figures, your assumptions

An illustrative estimate of reviewing correspondence, searching and preparing follow-ups. Enter your own assumptions; this is not a measured Loose Ends performance result.

Your practice

Use each person’s average client allocation, not your whole-practice total. For 400 clients shared across four people, enter 100 and 4.

The follow-up

Include searching email threads, checking past requests and drafting the follow-up. Average busy and quiet months across the year; count each communication once. Exclude tax preparation and other professional work.

What that time costs

€35 is an editable Irish practice planning estimate, including an allowance for employer costs and overheads. Use staff cost, not your client billing rate.

Why €35 per hour?

We use an illustrative €50,000 salary plus a 20% allowance for employer costs and overheads, divided by 46 working weeks × 37.5 hours. That gives approximately €35 per working hour.

The A+F Recruitment 2026 Irish practice salary survey lists audit seniors at €45,000–€50,000 in medium firms and €50,000–€55,000 in large firms. Our blended figure is a planning assumption, not a measured national average. The 20% allowance and working hours are our assumptions. Checked September 2026.

Client numbers, communication volumes, minutes and the reduction percentage are example inputs, not claimed Irish averages or measured Loose Ends savings.

Show the calculation

Monthly communications = clients per person × people × comms per client. Monthly admin hours = communications × minutes each ÷ 60. Current monthly staff cost = admin hours × hourly staff cost.

Potential hours recovered = monthly admin hours × your assumed reduction. Staff-cost equivalent = recovered hours × hourly staff cost. Annual figures = monthly figures × 12, using the year-round monthly averages you entered.

Set any workload input to zero to model no work. Set the hourly cost to zero to show time only. Figures stay in this browser; they are not submitted or stored.

Your inbox. Your clients.
Less chasing.

We set it up and support your team.

  1. Keep your usual mailboxes.

Clients continue emailing their usual contacts at the practice.

  2. We prepare the follow-up.

Loose Ends uses the available correspondence to surface outstanding requests and commitments and prepare the next action.

  3. Review, approve and carry on.

Your team checks what’s appropriate. Approved emails go from your existing mailbox, and replies come back there.

Your accountant decides whether information is complete or sufficient, including anything received elsewhere.

What does setup involve?

We prepare the proposed follow-ups for your team to review and agree any edits. You approve the messages before we send them through the agreed practice mailbox. This is a managed review process, not an approval button inside Outlook.

We agree a first workflow, scope and pricing. For client requests, you provide the relevant client list and responsible accountants. For correspondence, we agree the Microsoft 365 access needed with your IT provider.

We also agree which data is accessed, how it is processed, who can see the outputs and how long it is kept. Your practice keeps its existing systems; clients continue to reply to their usual accountant by email.

Let’s tie up
your loose ends.

See it with a workflow your practice handles today.
